April 2024: MPEG Press Release: MPEG reaches First Milestone for Fifth Edition of Open Font Format. The development and publication of the fifth edition ISO/IEC 14496-22 Committee Draft standard signifies a major technological breakthrough - the result of many years of hard work of MPEG Font Format subgroup developing new capabilities to enable creation of fonts that can support full Unicode repertoire and make it possible to cover all world languages and writing systems.
